AMERICAN RED CROSS OFFERING FREE-OF-CHARGE CARE GIVING CLASSES – FOR A LIMITED TIME
Buffalo, N.Y. – The American Red Cross, Greater Buffalo Chapter is offering free classes – for a limited time – to help care givers prepare for their role in assisting loved ones at home.
“Generations of Americans have relied on the Red Cross for training that helps keep families safe. And now, through the our Family Caregiving program, we’re here for you and your loved ones with information-packed presentations that incorporate the latest research and care standards to help you provide the best care possible,” Stephanie Malinenko, project manager, said.
“If you’re caring for a parent, spouse or friend at home, you know that ensuring a safe environment and providing even the most basic care can be overwhelming. Now you can learn new information to provide the best care possible with the Family Caregiving program from the American Red Cross,” Malinenko added.
Family Caregiving offers a variety of two-hour classes to help care givers provide the best care possible for their loved ones and gain a better understanding of safety, nutrition, general care, legal and financial issues.
This program design allows attendees to pick any session they want, whenever they want, at no cost to them.
“We are treating this special offer for free classes as a pilot program,” Malinenko said. “In return for attending the classes, we are asking participants to take a short survey to tell us what they liked or what can be improved. We will incorporate those changes when we formally roll out the classes, which will help care givers enhance their skills, reduce stress and build confidence.”
